How to book a boat

Welcome to the Church Point Charter, first of all take a look around our website to view the different boating options available to you on Pittwater & The Hawkesbury River.

We offer a varied fleet. No licence is needed. Keep in mind we are here to help you as best we can to find the most suitable boat for your occasion.

Once you have a clear idea of what you would like, please send us an enquiry, or give us a call and we can check availability and discuss costings with you.

If you decide you would like to secure a booking for a boat we require a 25% deposit of the total cost for your charter. The final payment will need to be made before departure with the vessel.

Note: fuel and bond are additional.

Bookings

Church Point Charter requires a 25% deposit to secure your booking.

In order for the booking to proceed the total payment will need to be made before the vessel departs the marina.

Payments

Church Point Charter accepts cash, direct deposit and Visa & Mastercard credit and debit cards. (Please note, a 2.5% fee will be applied to all credit card transactions.)

Conditions Of Charter Boat Use

Self drive charter vessels are limited to a speed of 10 knots (18.52 km/h), this is the reason no licence is required.

The charter vessels are not permitted to come alongside any wharf or raft up with any other vessels.

Moorings are available thought the waterways and a dinghy is provided free of charge to each vessel during a charter, and a motor may be hired at an additional cost.

All vessels on charter must be anchored 30 minutes before sunset and are not permitted to be driven during the night until 30 minutes after sunrise.

Charter vessels are not permitted to go out to sea or up to Brisbane Waters and may only cross west head from Pittwater to the Hawkesbury in less than 0.5m swells.

The limit of our charter area of operation is a line between Barrenjoey lighthouse and Lion Island/Middle Head. However all our vessels may access Pittwater, The Hawkesbury, Berowra Waters, Smiths Creek and Cowan Creek.

*note – Sailing vessels will not fit under the rail bridge at Brooklyn.

Bad Weather Policy

Unfortunately, sometimes unfavourable weather conditions may prevent a charter from going ahead.

We will discuss this with you closer to the start of your holiday. In the case of a cancelled charter due to bad weather we will either refund your deposit or just simply rebook – it’s your choice.

Pricing

Church Point Charter operates in Australian Dollars ($AUD) and prices are inclusive of GST. All pricing for our boats is located on our web page and includes information on any surcharges, premiums, discounts and seasonal rates.

Cancellations

Charterers who cancel within 30 days of the booking date will forfeit their deposit. If the booking is in December, January or on a public holiday the entire cost will be forfeited.

Cancellations that occur outside of the 30 days will incur an administration fee.

Security Bond

A bond of $2000 in the form of a credit card authorization or direct deposit must be provided before the charter and will be released 7 days after return unless there has been any damage caused to the vessel or its contents.

Parking & Transport

Complimentary Secure Parking

Our marina offers complimentary in-house parking together with really easy boat access.

Public Transport

Buses L90 and 199 stop 250m from the marina and taxi / Uber access is very easy. The Marina and access to marina amenities is all wheelchair accessible.
